Mizin, the real estate development arm of Dubai Holding company Tatweer, yesterday announced that it will build a mixed-use freehold township in Dubailand named Liwan. The township will cover 13 million sq ft and comprise 100 residential complexes and six commercial towers, a Tatweer statement said. “As our pilot project, Liwan will position Mizin as a leading real estate developer. The concept, generated from unique ideas after planning, comes as a direct response to market demands,” said Tatweer’s Chief Executive Saeed Al Muntafiq.
Strategically located, Liwan will be the eastern gateway to Dubailand.” Mizin’s CEO Sami Al Hashimi said: “Liwan has been announced only after finalising the masterplan and the near completion of Phase one of the infrastructure to avoid a long waiting time for prospective investors.” Phase one, he said, is built according to the terms laid down by Dubai Municipality, with which Tatweer signed a memorandum of understanding. Developed over hilly terrain, Liwan will contain six different types of buildings ranging between seven and 15 storeys on individual plots
